Newsflash! Non-peer reviewed, private study says _____________ (fill in the blank) is true.

People are susceptible to this crap because they are not familiar with the peer reviewed, empirical method some people on this board rail against.

Congratulations, Mr. Whitehead -- Citing faux science that is riddled with bogus assumptions (Hummer will last 300K miles, with the Toyota only 100K), . . .

I've read articles about the techniques used to advertise the Hummer. They target the lizard part of the human brain which seeks self-preservation. The approach appeals to the ultra-selfish side of the consumer.
. . .
The original article by a "Hummer sales manager" was answered in spades after he cited the "Dust-to-Dust" report. CNW Marketing has become 'bait' for quick, accurate, critical replies.

Default Re: Piling on CNW Marketing

Has anyone asked any of the people quoting this study, or the author of the study itself, what the dust to dust cost of a car like the HCH or TCH are?

This is a very good question. Honda didn't receive any significant coverage in the 'Dusty' report that I remember. In fact, we need to review all hybrid vendors including Ford and GM.
