The presidential office will use hybrid-electric vehicles (HEV) to raise public awareness of the environment industry as an alternative engine for growth and energy-saving, presidential spokesman Lee Dong-kwan announced Friday.
HEVs are eco-friendly cars featuring internal combustion engines and electric motors, which help ensure greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
Cheong Wa Dae purchased two hybrid vehicles for official use ― Verna, produced by Hyundai, and Pride, made by Kia, the spokesman said.
