Default Pretty good hybrid article

This is a newsletter I get at work (I work at a electric utility) and I thought this was a good article to pass on.

http://www.energycentral.com/site/ne.../ebi.cfm?id=22

I hope everyone enjoys it.

A positive article about hybrid cars?
Wonder who let that one slip under the radar?
Time to put someone on the payroll.

I think the circulation is rather small. I have been trying to help as best I can though!

While that is no doubt true, and worthy of repeating as often as we can, I still have a suspicion that we in the US would nonetheless find a way to screw that up.

Good article Billy, thanks.

Perhaps someday hybrids will account for 99% of the vehicles on the road and they'll be refered to as just "cars".

Very likely. How many people tout the fact their car is fuel injected these days? It's obviously a term you still hear used from time to time, but it was really only 25 years ago the electronic fuel injection hit the mainstream and today it's so commonplace that it's rarely even mentioned.

I am as rabid a hybrid enthusiast as they come -- or so I have been told. But I disagree with the 90% of market outlook for HEVs.

Hybrid tech -- at least in its current form of all petrol for motive force, is a solution for driving large cars efficiently. Yes, I call the Prius and Civic large cars.

The near future of 5 - 10 years hence will be small cars with 1 Litre engines for people with small budgets, and Plug-ins for those that can afford them. I love Toyota and Honda -- they are already planning to bring to the US their super minis, a couple years ahead of what 95% of the US population can imagine today. Hooray for forward thinkers!
