Considering that regular unleaded is going for $3.15-$3.20 a gallon in Sacramento right now -- and considering China's request to the ME for more oil and the "non-standoff" in Iran -- thei "journalist" needs to re-calculate, because the days of $2.55 a gallon gas are long gone.

It's already past $2.55 in Baltimore ($2.69 and slowly creeping towards $3.00). It also cracks me up how all it takes to be a journalist is to have an email address and a word processor. Other occupations, such as lawyer, doctor, engineer, police officer, etc. actually require some kind of certification that states you are competent to practice in your chosen profession, as well as the means to revoke such capabilities for misconduct. Not so with Journalism!
If I couldn't afford to buy a hybrid, there is NO WAY that the Aevo would be ny second choice. The Fit and Yaris are both only about $1,000 more than the Aevo but are vastly superior vehicles in terms of safety, handling, accessories, NVH, and fuel economy. Moreover, a hybrid can easily go to 150k miles. I seriously doubt that the same can be said for the Aevo.
Hope is like a candle held against the night.
