Thumbs down Suburban Sprawl & Excess example at its' best

Found this ad in Leesburg Today; a Northern Virginia community newspaper. If this isn't the epitome of suburban sprawl and excess, I don't know what is.

Enjoy!

Like "chastity" it is its own reward . . . or punishment. IMHO, the sooner such fools are separated from their money, the better. Heck, the developer doesn't need paved roads now. The county can save a lot of money by putting in a gravel, dirt road and then 'starting the repairs' on the paved segments. <GRINS>

The only thing worse than having an H2 is living where the roads require one.

sardonux,

Might want to also check out I HATE This Golfcart!

Not only is it in ads, made into a billboard , and all over the toystores, but at least one member here posted they don't have a problem with anyone driving one - same one that gets defensive whenever I point out narcassictic guys driving them and and one-ton trucks merely as a commute (read: poseur) vehicle.

The best way to stop sales of poseur vehicles like these is for the general public to go from oggling them to ridicule if it really makes them significant or virile. I wish there was a regular feature on Saturday Night Live likening this to Viagra and a male boob job. If....IF there is any utility to having one of these - it's ego. If it becomes an embarrasment to have one, their only reason to have one is nuked.

The only thing worse than a Hummer?

A stretch Hummer...

These monsters have more square feet inside and probably draw more power than the average "starter apartment" in the USA (and that's saying something!)

Here's a tiny bit of relief... a stretch Hummer with a Toyota Prius in the foreground.

There's nothing wrong with a stretch Hummer. Nobody buys a stretch Hummer thinking, "This is a good way to commute to work and get my family around town." It's an extravagance. People rent them for special occasions.

This is me at the Arbuckle Mountains in Oklahoma for a scenic view. That's not a good view of it....

Got to enlarge it, but it's a streach H2 with a California plate

This is exactly what it looked like (except the wheels and ad on the rear window....

It was sort of funny when I got out of my car and this guy got out the H2 limo. Think about Phil Collins In the Air Tonight - there was tension in the air as we could not be more polar opposites

This is was what I wanted to see, not some guy getting out of the strech H2 to have a leak....

Ok, I'll go against the grain on this one. I don't have a problem with someone buying a vehicle for status-power-safety despite its 13MPG. (But not someone complaining about feeding it) The hummer isn't really appealing to me but hey, I'd take one for free!

Chuck- There must be two of us odd balls out there with my same thoughts cuz I don't mind other opinions at all!
Please keep that hidden camera clicking
And you're absolutely right- change the market and these things will dissappear.

It was so funny when the guy said "Hello" twice (can you say guilt? )
