Yeah, I have never how many people prefer their car to be noisier just for aesthetic reasons, without any power gain. In some cases that makes sense, if you are giving up power in order to
supress noise, such as an overly restrictive exhaust, but in general, noise is just wasted energy
not producing useful torque. I would always prefer my cars to be as quiet as possible, so I can listen to music at a reasonable volume.
A lightweight, low-profile streamlined car with 400+ horsepower should perform exceptionally well, especially considering there is no power gap due to shifting, and a large portion of that horsepower comes from electric motors (tons of low end torque). If they position batteries and motors etc low to the ground they can also optimize the center of gravity for better handling.
