Default Sweden phasing out fossil fuels by 2020

Swedish ministers are proposing phasing out fossil fuels by 2020, replacing them mainly with renewable alternatives.

I thought the Green Party in Germany successfully putting in a law to phase out nuclear power by about 2020 was dramatic.

Even if the political climate to do this existed in America, I think it would be harder to do than Sweden to phase out fossil fuels. The U.S. simply has not empahasized non-fossil fuel as much in recent years, plus we drive more. I don't think Sweden can phase out by 2020 completely, although it's good to have it as a goal.
