Re: US Gas hits $3.50/gallon
Wife and I just bought a new 2008 Prius, have been using it for errands the last 4-5 days and gas gauge wasn't moving, wife thinks it is broken, I think it's O.K., she goes to fill up this morning, 1.8 gallons, US$6.35. I am not surprised. Another couple we know want to trade both of their Hondas for Prii. I told them to be quick about it.

As gas prices increase to all time highs, so will the demand for hybrids.........

Re: US Gas hits $3.50/gallon
Over here, gas just went up to 12.99 SEK/L. That's around 8.40 USD/gallon. And there are other countries in Europe with even higher gas prices.
Unfortunately, people's driving behaviors don't seem to change much, same amount of cars and same queues as before. But I do think I can detect a few more driving at the speed limit on the highway now, and a few more riding the bicycle to work in the morning. Bicycle sales are up as well.
Oil price peaked today at 118, temporarily. The future is bright.

Yes, I think Prii is the generally accepted plural. I've seen it now for a couple of years. Not sure where it originated, but it's really good.

Thanks for the warning. I'll be driving into ChiTown in July. Tho, in Long Beach, CA it's around 3.79/g. Around 200+ miles north it ranges from 3.99 to 4.09/g.

Re: US Gas hits $3.50/gallon
If you are going to be in the city expect it to be even higher. If in the suburbs it might be lower. I am guessing by July it will be even higher. I am in the burbs and near the Indiana border so gas is usually cheaper than in the northern or western burbs.
