Delays notwithstanding, Ford delivered the first hybrid SUV, a vehicle that is a fully-realized, jeep-road capable truck with sub-compact mpg at an affordable price. If it took longer than expected, I'm OK with that, because I was going to buy it as soon as it came out, and I wanted the bugs worked out beforehand.
We've already done things with ours in the woods that wouldn't be remotely possible with a Prius (and my wife wouldn't let me take her Prius in the woods anyway

). We can backpack and camp without guzzling gas along the way.
Those who know me know that being a cheerleader is not in my nature, but I thank Ford for offering this vehicle. And I like the ad a lot better than the one for Hummers.
