Most notably, though, Toyota is offering the latest version of its Hybrid Synergy Drive system on the Camry, pairing it with a four-cylinder engine - a different, Atkinson-cycle, 147-hp version of the 2.4-liter-for an emphasis on fuel economy rather than all-out performance. Combined with the electric motor system, the front-wheel-drive powertrain delivers up to 192 hp. The Hybrid carries a PZEV emissions rating. EPA fuel economy for the Camry Hybrid will be 43 city, 37 highway, with performance predicted to be a bit better than the four and V-6 and an official range of over 700 miles from its 17.1-gallon fuel tank.

Re: 07 Camry w/ HSD details and specs …
43/37 is a bit lower than I'd hoped but it's not bad, and I find cars with more powerful engines don't get much worse than EPA compared to small-engined cars, so maybe someone like me can expect 35 mpg, which is pretty good, especially with a 15-gallon refill (not counting reserve). It would be trivial going 525 miles before the alarm goes off, or stretching it nearly to 600 if desired. (525 = 35*15)
Of course getting 40 mpg gets you 600 miles before the alarm goes off.
Honestly I would not rule out trading in my HCH for a TCH even though I'd only have had it for 7 months when the TCH arrives... I just like the HSD tech alot better than IMA, and the Camry looks like the first decent car the HSD will be put into.

...as though they can fall much further... <15K units sold in 05. As we've all batted around, Honda missed the boat there in more ways than one.
So TCH matches the HAH FE on the hwy...AND has folding rear seats AND lower Cd. Hmmmm. Waiting for MSRP details.

Yes, please do, xcel. Since Ford did such a good job making a really fuel-efficient SUV, I'm very interested in how they do with their upcoming Fusion Hybrid.

It is not a fair comparison just to use the absolute torque value.
The MG2 spec is 105KW@4,500rpm and more than twice of 50KW@1,540rpm (Prius).
My bet is the TCH uses reduction gears same as HH/RX400h.
