Default What would be the next 3 or 4 hybrids to come out

I THINK THERE WOULD BE HUGE SALES FOR 1) A Prius or camry wagon. 2) A medium size pickup truck and. And 3)A small high MPG allwheel drive sedan. Anyone wnat to chime in with your top 3 picks

We want is a mini or full sized van hybrid. My wife does not drive often and is on my case to get an RV. But if we can get a hybrid minivan or even full sized van, I can put in a folding-to-bed bench seat and other amenities to make it a road worthy, RV-lite that won't suck our gas budget drive when she tools around town.

As for the RV-lite conversion, it will incorporate:

1) potty - this is likely to be an external, tent like structure with privacy and ventilation
2) water - enough for 2-3 days of cooking and dish washing
3) fold-out space - using tent and tubing, this will provide a stand-up, hard surface to stand on yet provide privacy for dressing and other rain-proof activities. It will 'connect' to the open van door yet be easily disconnected and sealed up as a standalone tent so we can drive off for short visits.
4) solid state cooler - for fresh food and beverages
5) nominal campsite power - bring in 110 VAC for electric blanket, fans, lights and bug-zapper
6) storage for stuff - don't ask, it is a woman thang.

The goal is private space for sleeping, dressing and food preparation with a portable commode system and integration to campground AC. Showers can be handled by the campground facilities.

My vote: Economy end hybrid (size of Fit, Yaris, etc). Without leather seats, nav, bluetooth, etc. etc. etc. I think you'd start seeing really amazing mpg there as well.

I just replied to your other post in the 2k8 Fit Hybrid....

But oddly enough, that's what Toyota's doing with the 2008 TCH. It'll remove the JBL audio, bluetooth, alloys, Homelink, auto-dimming mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather wrapped shift knob and drop the price by $1k. (although really, that equipment is worth more than $1k lol)

.

Mods: EV mod, VVT-i emblem, sport pedals, OEM cargo mat, JDM Prius interior footwell lighting, Sylvania Silverstars 9003ST, DICE iPod kit, OEM all-weather mats, TomTom ONE v2, LED licence plate lights.

Though I've never thought of the Camry as an economy car at $18,000+ at its most stripped down level. Add about $2000-4000, and you might as well get a Prius. The Yaris would be more like the Fit in cost (actually a tad cheaper) both in the neighborhood of $11000-13,000 or so.

The Camry Hybrid is even that great in mileage-- something like the conventional Corolla (not bad but hardly something to shell out the extra cash for the hybrid aspect).

Well I am satisfied with the Altima size.

I want then to come out with a new one with a plug and a bigger (4x) and better battery (Li-Po etc.) and do it NOW!
