Excellant wrap-up camelfilters! I think the Toyota/Honda Prius/Civic hybrid rivalry will only push the fuel-efficient, clean car market even further. The debate and opinions will undoubtedly continue...

So much better than the horsepower competition. What's the point, nowadays? Diminishing oil and dirty air are what auto makers ought to be designing for. Making less pollution using less oil. KISS.

Curt.

Of course the car I'd *love* to buy would be the Honda Fit Hybrid or Toyota Yaris Hybrid if either company ever produces them. I totally dig *tiny* cars. A hybrid in this size category would probably get 65-75 MPG if designed properly.

Hope is like a candle held against the night.

Excellent suggestions for future hybrids. I would love to see those especially now with the gas prices are up. In toronto: $1.10/L
No wonder I hear people are taking off their plates before filling up at the gas stations and then taking off without paying

BTW, to those honda owners, please dont end up like these two people who confused their civics for BMWs

(Real car: Honda CRX) Obviously this person should see a psychiatrist

(Real Car: Honda Civic) This guy should also have his manhood sterilized to prevent his genes from being passed on to the next generation

HAH!
that's hillarious,
I would love to see those cars holding up and slowing down traffic while "appearing" to look fast because they dont want to ruin their mileage

I would Love to cut them off ... err no that's not very nice...
I guess the whole era of people cutting off those Huge Ford Excursions who block your whole frontal view and hog up parking spaces are over, now it's time for the Prius Road rage: I just read this in the news; "Prius Road rage" is in now in LA's HOV lanes because they hold up everyone because they are trying to keep their mileage up.

One problem after another!
People created a car to save them gas, people buy them, people arent satisfied with it's exeptional mileage, so they drive them in a way where they can squeeze even more mileage out of it and in the process affecting other drivers.

Isnt that something else

regards,
gj

The Fit Hybrid is coming out in 2007 (actual 2007, not model year) and reportedly it'll use the drivetrain of the Insight, but it'll weigh 800 lbs more or thereabouts, so it'll be slower and less fuel-efficient. I remember someone quoting low- to mid-50's for MPG. Hopefully they'll go with a larger engine to make up for the weight difference.
