I believe the Civic gives similar FE if not worse at such speeds.

Also, based on the FE database numbers Civic = 46 mpg average, I am more than satisfied that I get close to if not better mileage than a lot of Civic drivers.
Wow, I never thought about comparing the two either. I like my HCH though, and I don't need a big car like the Camry, being a single guy. How you choose between the two definitely depends on what needs you have.

I never liked the styling of the Prius but I did consider these two head to head.

It was tough: the Camry delivers much more power than the HCH and only slightly lower FE.

However I live in an urban environment and oftentimes parking spaces are tough to come by, even tougher the bigger your car, so I considered the Camry's increased size more of a liability.

I like both though and am still envious when I see a sleek black Camry Hybrid

Having owned a small car when i was 18, i prefer a slightly larger car than the Prius or HCH. They are great cars........no doubt, but much smaller and not near as comfortable as a TCH. Camry's are not large cars.......just mid-sized. They also have a great mix of HP to MPG. I have averaged over 40mpg for most of the time i have owned mine. and have plenty of power as well!

Today's Honda Civic is as long and wide as a 25 year-old Toyota Camry. Today's Camry is even bigger and wider. Is it a land-yacht? Some of us would say yes. Cars are more bolstered and safer today, and perceptions change, so who is to say? But I don't think parking spots are getting bigger, on average.

Yes...........compared to a Camry of 20 years ago, the new TCH's are bigger. Cars have on average gotten bigger. Size is perception as well. For some people the TCH is a big car. Compared to a HCH.......it is a big car, but overall.......that is up for debate. It's definately not a small car. I don't consider the TCH a "big" car............and they are considered mid-sized in most of the articles i have read on them.

The TCH and HCH are both five pasenger cars. There really is not much diff. in size. The Tch has a soft ride were as the HCH has a sports car feel! Much more fun to drive a HCH. These are my feelings, cheers, H
