Ok my question to kevin pxs

1. Is do you own a toyota or a honda hybrid car?
2. Have you driven a toyota hybrid, to see if the calcs are true?

I would have to say that alot of the negitive comments about toyotas are coming from biased people that have a favorite (my cars better than yours)
I don't think the numbers are lying here on GreenHybrids gas tables..
Im happy with my Prius as it fits my needs, same as the other guy with his Civic fitting his needs..

lol I cant get my gas thingy to work

My toyota Prius gets between 51-60 in the city I can get 99.9 (electric drive only) in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic from speeds of 0-35 miles per hour.
The Hwy numbers will vary from 39-53 depending on conditions...
Also my car has saved me $1352.00 the first year of ownership in gas..

"Prius, Just ask the person that drives one"
04' Tundra, 18mpg city & 22mpg hwy.
04' Prius, 60mpg city & 53mpg hwy.

Actually, the highway/city thing is why I chose the HCH over the Prius. The HCH gets great highway mileage, but the city mileage is suspect. I *used* to drive 1500-3000 miles each week (in sales). Now I drive about 100 miles each week (in law enforcement). My HCH has saved me about $2200 in gasoline over the past 92,000 miles. I *almost* have the hybrid "premium" paid for in mileage. (Not that I care about the premium).

I was at the Honda Accord Hybrid webpage a few days ago and saw that it's only coming with a leather interior.

This is another major fubar by Honda, since a fair amount of environmentalists don't do leather, either because of diet/ethical concerns, or because of the impact of the tanning process on the environment.

Or Both.

Honda should hire someone to think about things like this.

...and a fair amount of greenies have no interest in a V6 that only gets 30s for mpg. Most people who want the power and amenities of the HAH likely have no issue with leather.

The HAH was not ever marketed as a particularly 'green' car; just one that was more fuel efficient than any other family sedan. Oh, and faster.

Yes, the HAH overall was very poorly conceived and/or marketed by Honda. This has been batted around endlessly here- myself being one of the biggest bashers despite having one. But leather is the least of issues for the HAH. And the large majority of those in the market for a $30K car with all the bells that the HAH comes with are very possibly owners of leather jackets, if not fur.

Yeah, but the ice 6 vs. ice 4 issue has been bled to death. I'm pretty sure the '05 didn't have mandatory leather.

I would buy an Accord if it came with a 6sp MT in a Coupe, even though I'd prefer it with a ice 4. But I wouldn't buy it with leather.

I went through the same thing with Ford's marketing people when they announced the "specially wrapped leather steering wheel" in the Escape hybrid. It's an incredibly ill-conceived idea when there's a statistically significant correlation between being an environmentalist, and being vegetarian, and thus being someone who would buy a hybrid.

Yes, the 05 came in one trim level. With leather. ONLY option was navi or no navi.
