I'll take your word for it since you have a FEH and I don't. I'm a little confused however, the link and pic of the mounting are for FE. Is the hybrid different?

BigTuna, your pic (and link) are for the OLDER model FE. The new ones look different, and pretty nice, I might add. That kit likely won't be even close to workable.

Ahhh, sorry for all the questions. It is just that I've never heard of such a thing before. Making mental note......

Side note:

Before I discovered Crutchfield's custom faceplates and harnesses, stereo installs were a lot bigger deal. I remember making custom faceplates by hand out of stainless and copper sheet metal. They didn't look bad but you could tell that the radio was aftermarket. Now they got those plastic install kits and wiring harness so installing a stereo is a snap (unless you have a FEH, evidently).

I found out that a kit for the '08 FEH was just released. It should start showing up in a few week. I'm confused as to why the kit took so long. Maybe when I see it I'll know why it wasn't ready back in September like most new and popular vehicles.

One thing I have to look into is what happens to the display when the stock stereo is removed. Will the temperature still display or did Ford use the stock radio as the 'brains'. I've seen that done before on GMC vehicles, but I don't have enough experience with Ford to know what to expect.
