How long was it going? That must have been extremely annoying until it died.

Same thing happend on my 2004 Sienna a couple of months ago. Woke up at 3am hearing some ahole blowing his horn constantly. After about 10 minutes of this I went outside and discovered I was the ahole. I opened the hood and got a strong acrid smell of something badly overheating. I had to back off for a minute to let the smell vent as it was unbreathable! I started to disconnect the battery, at 3am it takes a bit to find the right tools. I was 30 seconds away from having the battery disconnected when it just died. I estimate the horn was blowing constantly for about 15 to 20 minutes before it died.

Our horn blasted about 6-8 minutes, started smokeing and quit.It started when my wife got in after work and started the camry. It also stuck for a moment ,early that day when she locked it (8hrs. earlyer) The toyota shop said there is no service bullitin on this problem.

Joe: Just a thought...do you have an aftermarket alarm on the TCH, or dealer installed alarm? Not trying to point fingers, just looking for a cause. (Realy looking for a cause that I DON'T have. LOL )

Someone once told me the total lifespan of a car horn is 15 minutes of usage. I guess he was right.

Jeff
I was thinking the same thing. The horn never sounds on my TCH when the doors are locked. It is an electronic beep instead.

Hit the red button and the horn sounds.
