2010 Camry Hybrid MPG Average display
I recently traded my 2007 Camry Hybrid for a 2010 Camry Hybrid. My 2007 regularly averaged 40mpg easily, and I would think that the 2010 would be close, but the message center seems to be acting crazy. After I fill the fuel tank the average MPG on the display always seem to be 32.5-33mpg no matter what I do or how I baby it by the time I get to 1/2 tank or less. The display that shows the average between starting the vehicle often averages 40mpg. Is there any type of calibration that needs to be done on the computer system, or does anyone think that their might be a problem else where? I'm certainly not new to the Camry Hybrid and this just does not seem to be acting right.

What does your "math at the pump tell you"? That is the true MPG. I have found that mine can be as much as 2 MPG off either way. It is usually within about .5 MPG. But, sometimes it is off by quite a bit.
I never trust that stupid thing. I just check it when I fill the car.

I think it'll get better. Not quite broken in. Also, you may run few cans of Seafom to treat fuel system.
Otherwise, stick to Fuelly or written log. Also, do NOT reset any averages or such, as then you'll have long term average and THAT is the only one that matters.

I easy drive my car just after filling up for about 30 or so miles driving. I find it uses the traction battery a lot more and ups my mpg big time. I find after that over the whole tank I usually come out with some high mpg's.
I use the mpg readout all the time noting each tanks mpg to see if I'm improving my hybrid driving techniques.
You should keep your times aired up to 38 to 40 psi only at night after they have cooled off.
I always use a top-tier gas from the www.toptiergas.com list. Play the video then open the link, Retailers to see the list of stations to buy from.
RonAKA mentioned a while back to buy Costco's Kirkland Signature gas as it's now as good as the top tier brands even if it's not listed at the present.
I use www.gasbuddy.com to find the consistent lowest priced top tier station in town. Type your zip code or city/state in the white block to see a list of stations in your city.
