Question Anybody know where the block heater goes?

I just spent 2 hours beneath the car and couldn't find it.

Where did you get the block heater? What brand and model is it? We can most likely find install information on the Web.....

It's made by Toyota Canada. Part # 00213-00885 or C0140-00885. Most of the mail order Toyota parts stores carry it.

I've already done a lot of web searching. There are good instructions for Prius but the location is not the same. The instructions that came with the heater give little information and only cover 2005 and earlier models.

Sending a PM to JOE540CI was the first thing I did. He traced the cord as far back as he could without jacking up the car.

I made an appointment to have a dealer install it on Monday and also for an oil change. That should be interesting...

Do us a favor and tell them you want to take a picture of it when it's on the car installed and the car is still on the riser so we can all see where it goes.

Or ask them for a copy in the tech's install instructions......

I may have located the area in the service manual. I'm about to head to Home Depot for more tools and then I'll try to figure out the best way to access that area. If it is indeed in that area then parts have to be removed to install it. This is different from other Toyotas where the hole is merely hard to access but nothing really had to be removed to do the installation.

I did find the hole where I suspected and installed the heater. I still need to route the cord, reassemble, and test.

I'll post a full write up with pictures in a few days.
