While looking up new MSRP figures on Costco's Auto Buying site (in reference to the recent $300 base model price increase), I also noticed a "new
" PPO option offered by GS Toyota:
NIGHT VISION MIRROR UPGRADE
Option Code : GE
NIGHT VISION MIRROR UPGRADE (PPO)
Dealer: $140.00 MSRP
: $199.00
?!? I thought
everyone got the auto-dimming mirror... it's listed as "standard"on Toyota's PDF comparison sheet (see attachment): "Auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass". Is GS Toyota trying to sell this as an "option" nowadays ?
Likewise, I also noted that "Natl" had:
CARGO NET
Option Code : GN
CARGO NET (PPO)
Dealer: $34.00 MSRP
: $49.00
which -- once again -- was something I thought came standard with the TCH. Again, per the comparison sheet, see: "Trunk-mounted cargo net".
Yes we are all aware that GS, SE and Nat'l carry differing Post-Production Options... but I'm just wondering why some of the "base" features are being passed as PPO's depending on Distributor/Dealer. Am I missing something? Is it just Costco's buying site, or has anyone noticed it somewhere else as well?
