This sounds cold, but I have little sympathy for sighted people that are spooked or nearly hit by hybrids. Open your eyes, duffus!

For sight impaired people, I understand their point, but cannot the same be said for bicycles, and they have been around for 100+ years.

And don't get me started on cyclists...the WORST traffic law offenders out there!

Just think, if all the cars out there were as quiet, there would be less background noise to mask the hybrids. I mean, we're pretty quiet (I snuck up on someone walking in the parking lot at work once, hehe), but not exactly silent by any means. Tires still grate against sand/pavement, etc. And aren't blind people supposed to develop more sensitive hearing as they compensate for the loss of vision?

Idunno, somehow I don't think the solution really ought to be "make quiet cars artificially louder".

I love my quiet car! Really, drivers should pay attention as well. And as mentioned, they do make noise. I am sorry for the blind. It is horrible to live that way, but honestly, we do not need more noise pollution.
