Bluetooth Phone Not Dialing Out

Bluetooth Phone Not Dialing Out
Does anyone ever have problems dialing out w/ bluetooth? About 25% of the time when I choose a number to dial from the phone, it does not 'connect' with my stereo.
My phone is dialing and I know I am connected b/c people have told me that I called but they could not hear me. Usually the stereo turns off and it goes into phone mode when I dial, but about 25% of the time it does not and I cannot use the actual phone or the stereo system so I am in limbo. The stereo continues to play music or whatever like normal and my phone is connected.
I used to have a Razr w/ T-Mobile, and now I have a Sprint/Nextel phone and it has happened on both phones.
Any ideas?

Try re-pairing the phone with your car.
If you still have problems, try to test it paired in another Camry Hybrid (at the dealer). If it works on the test car, but not yours, It is probably a radio/bluetooth problem in your car.
It is unlikely to be caused by the phone, if you have the same problem with 2 different models of phone.
I assume that you are under warranty. You just need to get the dealer to conclude that the problem is with the car, not the phone.
Good Luck. Keep us posted!

Re: Bluetooth Phone Not Dialing Out
The failure rate on outgoing calls is reaching 80-90% now.
I took it to the dealer and after they had my car for a day they had no idea. They called Toyota the next day and Toyota said to replace my radio head unit.
So that will happen tomorrow.

Re: Bluetooth Phone Not Dialing Out
Have you noticed no sound from the speakers when switching from AM-FM1-FM2 etc? This has been experienced by a few people on this site. Typically, when this happens, the bluetooth speakers crap out, too. People on the other end of the line can hear you, but you cannot hear them. I have already had one radio replaced with no luck.
I have a hunch it has to do with a short at the amplifier...at least that's what it says in the Toyota Audio-Visual troubleshooting guide.

Re: Bluetooth Phone Not Dialing Out
Well changing the radio head unit did not fix the problem. The dealer now has no idea what to do.
Misbe - On very rare occasions when I switch through the CD and to one of the radio settings it will mute. Every time this has happened all I had to do was cycle through again and my problem cleared immediately. So I don't have a big problem w/ this.
The problem I have is when I press dial on my phone, it actually dials out, but the stereo stays on the radio so I can neither hear or speak w/ my phone nor the stereo system. This used to happen about 1 in 10 times now it is about 4 in 5, and once it happens I have to keep dialing the number and after about 10 times the call will connect and my stereo will finally switch to phone mode.
