Default Door moldings

I've had my '09 TCH for a little over two weeks now. Love it in every way, but am concerned about the doors getting nicked, especially in parking lots when other people open their doors and might not be careful about jamming them into mine.

Does anyone know if there are door moldings available for the TCH? I'd like them the same color as the car. I'm thinking specifically about the ones that are mounted on the door, parallel to the ground.

Any advice, information or input from folks who have had these installed would be greatly appreciated. Any specifics about places in the Chicagoland area that does the work would be extra-appreciated.

I'm surprised the dealer didn't try to sell them to you at closing. Most dealers will offer them for $300 installed.

I found them online for $85-$100, and wound up buying them through a friend for $80. Installed them myself in about 10 minutes. They come with tape on the back that you just peel off the covering and stick them on. I found directions online that included the measurements for exactly where they go and how to place them.

Here you go: http://trdparts4u.com/MC-DDII-I.aspx

If it does not directly link to the body side moldings, navigate the choices as follows:
Toyota > Camry > 2009, HYBRID > Accessories>Body Side Molding

I have not purchased this particular part from them but I have purchased other parts. Both for my TCH and my mother's RAV4.

How difficult to install properly (that is, so it doesn't look like ****)?

Not difficult at all, just requires a little care. You can find the instructions here.

One quick warning: ignore figure 3-1 where it says to pull on the tab to remove the backing on the tape. I pulled on the tab and all that got removed was the tab. That happened on each and every one.

Another option is to have the dealer install them. That's what I did, a week after I picked up my '09 TCH. I believe the price is $195 installed. My dealer tried to charge more, then I pointed them to Toyota's web site that quotes them as a dealer-installed accessory.
