Default Re: drive-by-wire?

Some current GM cars are drive by wire. That includes the 05-06 Pontiac GTO (LS2 engine), and the 05-06 Chevy Z06 Corvette (LS7 engine). Although with those cars if you put your foot to the floor it will rev the engine up to the rev limiter, somewhere around 5800rpm as witnessed on my friends 05 GTO. If you floor the TCH or a FEH it seems to only rev the engine to around 2000rpm. I can’t tell on my TCH but my work’s FEH has a tach that confirms the lower rpm.

It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that drive by wire accelerator pedals will be the norm. It's a lot easier for the computer to control the engine without some idiot human having an unregulated interface to the system...

Two climate control systems, one inside and the other at the tailpipe.
