Driver side window wind noise
Anybody else notice the driver side window wind noise in their TCH? It sounds as if the window is not all the way up. Other than that the car is very quiet.
Just wondering if this is inherent to this model or if it just my vehicle with this flaw. I am hoping that I am one of the few with this problem. That would indicate that it can be taken care of.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Driver side window wind noise
I would have to agree with Joe...in heavy cross winds I notice more noise than usual, otherwise my vehicle is very quiet.

Glad to hear that from you and Joe. I'll have to see if the window doesn't go all the way up or if the door doesn't close all the way.
It sounds as if air is escaping out of the drive window. It is worse in heavy wind, but I don't think I should be able to hear it at all in mild weather.

Re: Driver side window wind noise
My window is very quiet. The TCH has a little more overall wind noise than my 99 CaddySTS did, but I didn't expect a $27k car to have the same noise level as a $50k car. I would have your dealer check the seals, maybe you have a leak somewhere that the wind is getting into.

Re: Driver side window wind noise
I've noticed it too, ever since I bought the car 2 months ago. It is more obvious in crosswinds, but it's rather annoying even with no winds and even at moderate speed (40 miles per hour). I can feel a draft too, in the upper rear corner. I've looked at the seals, but don't see any differences from the passenger door.

Re: Driver side window wind noise
My neighbor has complained of this in his '07 Camry LE. I don't notice the problem in my TCH, probably because any wind noise is being drowned out by the chirping, clicking and rattling sounds being made by my dash and console.

HI SALLYSPAL: I just road in a newer jeep and it made me realize how nice the camry hy really is. The jeep had clunks and lots of engine, wind drive train and other unknown noises.

Hell, even coming from an 04 Corolla, in which I never noticed the noise except on the highway (in fact, when I first got it I sometimes thought the engine had died if the radio was loud at a stoplight), feels like the whole world just got calmer by about ten degrees.
For the record, I haven't noticed any window noise. If I start noticing it now, I'm leaving the forum. :>

Re: Driver side window wind noise
New owner of a Camry Hybrid, mag grey, fully loaded. I'm very happy with the vehicle, but I have to say that one of the things I'm most disappointed with is the wind noise. I commute 30 highway miles to work every day and I'm rather appalled at how loud the wind noise is. If I'm listening to music, it's not an issue as I tend to enjoy my music quite loud. But, if I'm listening to NPR or perhaps not listening to anything on the stereo, the wind noise at 50mph and higher is unusually loud. In fact, it's significantly louder than that of my '05 Camry LE! A visual inspection of the seals doesn't show anything out of order. Surely it's not just a handful of us who are experiencing this problem? It's especially disappointing because I think that Toyota has done a great job at reducing road noise with the thicker windshield, but what's the point of that if it sounds like you're in a wind tunnel when driving faster than 50?
I don't suppose there are any TSBs out there on this issue?
