I checked on my scangauge last night when leaving the office, once again this morning. ~1300 RPM just after "starting up", and it stayed like that until the ICE was warmed up (1-2 mins). Once warmed up, it was at ~850 whenever "idling" at full stop (whenever not performing a usual shutoff, I mean).

Mind you, it's not as cold down here right now. Temps were in the low 50's (F) each time, heater/blower/defrosts/etc were off. Hope this helps!

goldenbob — I find results in SW Ontario similar to those found by HybridFan in Texas. (I'm also using a ScanGaugeII.) On start-up the ICE idles ~1300 rpm. When fully warmed up, the ICE idle speed is around 1000 rpm, using gasoline at a rate of ~1 L/h. During normal driving (not when accelerating or climbing hills, etc.), it spins at ~1400-2500 rpm.

Check out: www.scangauge.com. It's US$169.95, shipping included (although they mention something about customs/import charges for Canada)...

While I'm at it... I just noticed that they have a retail store across the border for y'all: The Gadget Garage in Mississauga, ON (no phone#, just sales@gadgetgarage.ca)

goldenbob — Check out the ScanGauge Web site referred to by HybridFan. I ordered my ScanGaugeII from their Web site, and it arrived without incident. I did have to pay Canada Post a C$5.00 handling charge for clearing it across the border, since Linear Logic (the manufacturer) ships only via US Postal Service. (Federal Express or UPS wouldn't have incurred the handling charge.) Still, it's a good investment if you're interested in investigating some of what's going on behind the scenes.
