My car's nearing 11000 miles so I'm due for a second oil change. For my first one, I just went to an instant-oil-change place and got 5W-20 oil put in in 15 minutes. But I want 0W-20 for the second to see if there's any difference (in warm southern California it's likely to be minor) so I'll report any obvious difference in fuel efficiency that I see.

Thanks for mentioning that, Gecko! There's a Napa Auto Parts one minute from work and they evidently had plenty of Mobile 1 Synthetic 0W-20 ($4.99 each) so I bought oil and got my oil change done tonight.

My husband went to Wal-Mart today to look for Prestone De-Icing windshield washer fluid and checked for Mobile 1 0W-20. He said they had one quart and the price was $6.00. For certain I will be buying it from the dealer, because I know they'll have enough.

Add my thanks as well... though I called 2 NAPA places here in Raleigh, NC and told me sorry it is obsolete (price was $4.99/qt) and I told them I know but it is coming back since 2007 year vehicles or later demand for it and besides they would have charged me $15 for shipping if they would have made it available for delivery...... but, I did not give up and the 3rd NAPA place I called BINGO no shipping charge the price is same ($4.99/qt) of course and she had to order it and will pick up 9 quarts of 100% fully synthetic Mobil 1 0W-20 tomorrow. My local Wal-Mart has it $5.92/qt.

I am quite amazed though that NAPA has the price of M1 0W-20 @ $4.99/qt and was wondering if price per qt was same across USA...

When I called Exxon Mobile (yes, I am that much a geek) to inquire they suggested NAPA. None of the NAPA places I tried to call in my area were open after 5pm, so I never did find out if they had it.

What is the stock OEM oil BRAND in our cars? And is it semi-syn or full-syn?

My experience, which I posted separately, was that the dealership did not actually have any 0W-20 in stock. They could "get some," but couldn't guarantee it would be there in a timely fashion (i.e. today), so I went to the NAPA store and bought it myself for nearly $2.00 cheaper than the dealership was going to charge me anyway.

That sounded good, so I just called my local NAPA store (Kirkland, WA) and they have it too...for $8.59/qt!!

NAPA store in Seattle: $6.71/qt -- out of stock, but they can get it with one day's notice. Woodinville: $6.39, same story.

Obviously pays to check around...

Looks like the 07 RAV4s recommend the 0W-20. Hopefully, there will be more stock at various quick-lube stores before too long.

I've had my TCH and RAV4 changed at WalMart. The M1 0W-20 change is $39.99. Not too bad when you consider that the oil cost is $24.

My toyota dealer now has the Toyota 0W-20. It comes in a red bottle and is fully synthetic. Depending our schedule, I may have my next changes done there.
