Default Free XM period?

I seem a to remember reading here or in the Edmunds Town Hall about a free period offered for new subscribers who buy a Toyota? Does anyone know about this and how I can get it?

Yeah there are some local Sirus/dealer promos going, my dealer actually was giving Free Sirius tuner and 9 months which I jumped on. Problem is the Sirius tuner has issues, Sirius is issueing a fix for it on all 07 Camrys and Soloras. also I am less than thrilled with Sirus. I had XM for 2 years and only time I lost signal was up in the mountains if the moauntain was in the way fo the satellit signal and that was very rare. Sirius , drops going through heavy tree areas, some over passes, etc.

You have to get the promotion code from the installer & relay that info to XM. Congratulations on chossing XM. I thought it was a much better choice for my family then sirus. I have been very happy with XM.

seems as though xm is now broadcasting alot of commercials - don't know about sirius - something about paying for service and having to endure commercials make me hesitate about joining...

I called XM on their customer service number, gave them my radio serial number and told the rep I was told to give them the xmtoyota2003 code. I got activation and 90 days for free. Note that unit is not a Toyota installed XM unit but a Pioneer INNO mobile unit.

Satellite radio is in major battle mode with terrestrial radio for ears. Clear Channel Communications is one of the initial investors of XM and their agreement requires XM to broadcast certain C.C.C. FM music channels with commercials.

To counter the added commercials, XM added more music channels so they still boast to have the most commercial free music channels while Sirius can say they have 100% commercial free music channels. Both service have commercials in their talk, sports, and other non-music channels.

I subscribe to XM and use xm411.com for juicy info.

Wait a second, I was considering getting either Sirius or XM radio to escape the commercials, and was interested in which was better. Are you telling me that both of these services, which you have to pay for, have commercials???

If so, why would anyone subscribe? Why not just stick with local channels?
