I believe they come on with the rear window defroster. Will you be needing them tonight in Flordia?

Be nice. The temperature is dipping into the high 70s tonight. Better safe than sorry.

According to the iGuide Owner's Manual, it is the rear window defog switch that controls the rear view mirror defoggers.

Probably the reason is that the rear defroster is commonly used when there is frost AND it is an electronic switch that kicks off after time, whereas the front defroster is simply a redirection of the warm air from the heating system towards the windshiled and is not connected to a switch or timer. I believe most heated mirrors operate this way)

OK! I got to use my heated mirrors this morning! No, it really wasn't THAT cold, but is was moist from a lot of dew...So I turned on the rear defroster which in turn turned on the heated mirrors. I was just out of my driveway and up the road, less than 1/4 mile and my mirrors were clear! They were nice little rectangles. I was not as impressed with the rear window defroster, though. It wasn't clear by the time I got to work 2.5 miles from home!
