Re: Hello Everyone (Newbie)
I'm a newbie too!
I picked up a brand new '08 yesterday. I went from an '04 Accord V6, so I dropped from 240 to 187 HP, but so far, I'm showing 35-37MPG in mixed driving.
ETA: My wife named it "Ota" this morning, 'cos she says it's my new Toy(ota)!!!

Re: Hello Everyone (Newbie)
Congrats to your both!!
The TCH may only have 187hp but the torque is amazing and it feels like a V6 of 5-10 years ago. (Gets a very similar 0-60 time to the 194hp [old SAE] 2002 Camry V6 models).
Mods: EV mod, VVT-i emblem, sport pedals, OEM cargo mat, JDM Prius interior footwell lighting, Sylvania Silverstars 9003ST, DICE iPod kit, OEM all-weather mats, TomTom ONE v2, LED licence plate lights.

Yea I agree! I didn't buy this car to race...I knew when I bought it, it wasn't meant for speed. But For my daily 46 mile drive (one way!) it has more then enough power to sail me down I-81 @ 90MPH if I chose.
What is the top speed anyway? Anyone know? I remember reading it cuts off at 117MPH?
Just curious...

Re: Hello Everyone (Newbie)
raven77 — I haven't tested this out, but according to the "New Car Features Guide" the top speed is governor-limited to 185 km/h (~115 mph). Don't forget that your speedometer is designed to read optimistically, so it may appear to be higher if you do try.

Re: Hello Everyone (Newbie)
You know, I know this car isn't designed for speed, but considering the phenomenal amount of torque in the electric motor, coupled with the CVT that pegs the engine right in the power band when necessary, nobody really sees it coming. It really catches a lot of people off guard and I get a lot of looks when people realize its a hybee. This car is a performance vehicle in its own right.

I'm not familiar with the terminologies, but I did feel that "pull" that I wasn't expecting on a Hybrid car. I remember the first time I drove on the highway, I was so gently with it, but after this person cut me off, I was like eff it! And it really surprised me!
