Default Hot Wheels!!!

Hey I have seen many of your posts with photos of your gorgeous TCH's. Many of you have traded in the factory wheels and installed 17 inch rims with low profile tires. My questions are:

What do you think?

Do you like the ride?

Is there a difference?

What did it do to your mileage?

Does switching to Non-factory wheels screw up our TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)?

If it did - what ingenious way did you figure out how to get around the warning light on the dash?

Bump for your post. I'm thinking about getting a set of 18's for our's and am wondering about the TPMS's too.

I cant tell a difference in ride quality and I haven't lost any gas mileage. It really depends on how I drive it. I average about 40. Also its not a big deal for the tire shop to swap the tire pressure monitors over to the new rims.

Hey Kevin - nice job on the wheels. Good choice!! They look like 17 inch diameter-corect? I like the chrome, it's a good look.

So you basically drove to the place selling the wheels you wanted, had them remove your old ones and switched the TPMS sensors?

What did you end doing with the original wheels?

Thanks for responding,
Randy

If you go with Toyota/Lexus OEM wheels, then the Toyota TPMS sensors will fit with no problem. You also won't have to worry about hub size.

If you go with aftermarket wheels, then 95% of them will fit the Toyota TPMS sensors without any problem. But there is never any guarantee.

If you are replacing stock alloy wheels, you can sell them on EBay or Craigslist. I sold my alloy rims for $400, which paid for almost all of my Lexus wheels ($500)

I purchased the Lexus ES350 wheels from Eyekutr (Rudy), and the tires from tire rack. Then drove to tire kingdom and they swaped everything out for me. They didnt even have to break the wheels all the way down to remove the sensors. My original wheels and tires are in my garage.
