Default How does the "Best" average MPG work (on models with Nav)?

What is your intrepretation (for those driving cars with the nav system), on what the Best MPG # means on the Consumption bar chart screen?

From reading the manual, it's confusing.

The Average MPG # beside it makes sense: this seems to be your average MPG since the last reset. I intend to never reset this so that it will show a lifetime average.

But then the manual seems to say that the Best MPG # is not displayed until you press Reset, which doesn't make much sense to me.

Anyone with actual experience driving a nav model know how it works, for sure?

The first time you press "Reset," your "Average" will be stored as "Best," and your "Average" will be re-initialized. Thereafter, whenever you reset, your Camry will see if your new "Average" is better than the "Best" that you have stored, and if so, when you hit "Reset" again, it will give you a new "Best."

Good luck keeping the maid from hitting "Reset" when she dusts your dashboard! Me... I'm happy with my 85.1 MPG best, but now aiming for 90!

I plan on hitting reset when I fill the gas tank each time. That way the best will show the best avg mpg I got on a tank of gas..

When got my car from the dealer @ 16miles the BEST MPG said 4.1, I just filled up and got 36.2mpg tank average. Hit reset ALL, & RESET, now the BEST shows _._
I guess I should NOT hit RESET ALL correct?

That's fine - your next tank will now become the "BEST". When ever you better your "BEST", it will automatically record your new average.

Notice you are from Loveland. Where did you buy your TCH? We bought ours up in Cheyenne - good people to deal with!

We got lucky as the Cheyenne dealer had this one coming in with no name on it. We ended up waiting about two weeks from when we put our name on it until we took delivery.

We are in Loveland - NE part of town near Silver Lake.
