The XLE has a sun shade for the back window that rolls down. It may be an option.

OK - thanks. I got nervous that it wouldn't have the cover for the moonroof!

Spiffer,

Regarding the difference between power sunroof and moonroof, I don't know the dictionary definition (which you could google), but I'm with the impression that for all intents and purposes, they are used synonymously.

The ONLY difference I might think is that a moonroof may slide back, but may not have the option to tilt up for ventilation while the glass is in the forward position. I'm still dubious on this point, due to the fact that I'm CERTAIN I've had vehicles over the years where the manufacturer called it a moonroof and it was still able to tilt.

As you recall, at FIRST a sunroof was simply a piece of glass that could pop up to add a bit more ventilation on the roof of a car, hence my reason for thinking there may be some difference.

Overall, I'd guess that it's wordplay among different auto companies. Similar to how some companies call their manual shift automatic transmissions 'Tiptronic' and some call them 'Steptronic'.

I figured they are the same, but I recently noticed that they list both as "options" when you do kbb.com trade-in values.

There was a day when sunroofs were opaque, either fabric that folded back (think: VW Bug) or solid metal sliders (think: Mercedes.) I could be wrong, but I believe the term 'Moonroof' originally refered to tinted glass, diminishing the sun's effect and turning it a bluish color, which is now a much more ubiquitous style than the solid 'sunroof.'

Or I could be completely wrong.
