Default install factory NAV aftermarket

Is it possible/desirable to install the factory NAV system aftermarket? The salesman at the dealer said no, I am not sure I believe him.

Call a few other dealers and see if they give you the same answer.

It is possible... In Canada they only required Factory Navigation be installed aftermarket.. There are many discussions about this... do a search.. The dealership just won't do it ...

Does anyone know the reason for this? Is it cheaper to go this route? Why wouldn't they install it? It seems like good money for them.

This is not entirely true.

In Canadian 2009 models Factory Navigation is available but for the 2007-2008 model years Factory Navigation was not available. The only thing you could get was dealer installed navigation.

This is not the same navigation system that came with the Camry Hybrid in the U.S. but the navigation system intended for the regular Camry XLE it lacks all of the "Energy Screens".
