Interest in Brake Maintenance Sticky?

Interest in Brake Maintenance Sticky?
I recently did some regular maintenance of my TCH brakes, and took a few photos. Is there any interest in a how to procedure for routine brake maintenance on the TCH? If there is I would be willing to put one together. It would cover tools, frequency, lubricants, brake fluid issues. I appreciate there is one already on changing a rear drum, but this would be only for maintenance of all the disk brakes, and brake fluid system.
My philosophy is that TCH brakes should last the life of the vehicle without any parts replacement, or servicing by a dealer, if proper routine maintenance is done.

OK, I will put it together. Couple of questions for you though. First do you know the official torque for the 14 mm hex bolts that attach the caliper sliders? I did it by feel. And I noticed in your posts that your photos are fairly large. Is there a particular way to do that? The ones I have posted end up as thumbnails that you have to click on...

Just a comment: There are so many stickies now that I have to manually scan down a page to see if there has been any new material posted to this forum. I'm not saying they are not useful, but might there be some way to consolidate all the stickies into sub-forum so that they don't take up all that space on page one?

Wow. I counted NINE stickies - and they took exactly 50% of the resolution height on my screen. That's half the screen height.
But yes, it may be a good idea to create a subforum with stickies. Call it "How to" or whatever.
Thing is, David, aka Georgeahybrid, has no power to do so. It's up to forum owner, and costs $$, as developer will have to re-vamp the site to add that section.

One less costly solution may be to create one master thread for Maintenance Stickies, and then put links to the other stickies in that master thread. Then you could un-stick them and clean up the screen. The Moderator of course would have to maintain the master sticky.

It's only 9 stickies, the explorer forum has more than that and nobody's complaining.
On my lincoln ls forum, the moderator is so lazy to create stickies so everyday you have people posting for the same issue and same people responded "do a search or post the link". Overtime when people don't post the links they use the search and the search results will be a list of search results for people doing a search.. so frustrating..

This is a great idea! I have serviced mine several times now. Every time I do, I find at least a couple of the pins are not moving easily. This would really help a lot of people out. Easy job and pretty straight forward.
