Default iPhone BT connection

Just wondering if anyone has the iPhone and how the BT support is with the Camry.

- Does it pair easily?
- Does the Speed Dial work?
- Does it support bulk transfers of the phone book?
- How's the connection quality?

Thanks!

No problems pairing. Speed dial works. The connection is about the same as any other (hardly "toll" quality).

I haven't tried the phone book.

Thumbs up Re: iPhone BT connection

Yes, I have been using my iPhone with my Camry 2007 Hybrid since June 29th.

Everything seems to work fine. It replaced a Treo 650 from Verizon, which worked Ok once I figured out that you had to keep the Camry key fob and the Treo about two feet apart. No such issue with the iPhone, which can be laid on top of the key fob with no problem.

The iPhone and Camry combination is awesome!

How's that?????

What's the connection between the key fob and blue tooth????

Wouldn't it just communicate with the head unit?

Dang

P.S.
Blackberry 7100 pairs no problem, as does my Samsung. Phone book transfer "seems" to work with very few phones.

Cool Re: iPhone BT connection

They both use radio frequencies and my guess is that the Treo's radio hardware is less able to reject emissions from the fob or the car than other phones.

The key fob has nothing to do with BT pairing or BT operation. The manual specifically states you should not keep the key fob in close proximity to a cell phone as the RF from the phone can damage the fob.

Hmmmm, if it doesn't transfer phone book entries even singly I'd say it's a mediocre BT implementation at best. I hope the web site is wrong.

I've found that since the iPhone has a MUCH nicer interface than the car, I use the car for speakerphone only. I don't dial from the car anymore. Or use the nav's phonebook.

I don't even use the nav map database either. Google maps blows it away.

The march of progress!

Do you get CallerID on the nav screen?
I dont get it, just wondering, if it had to do with my phone or Camry.

Unfortunately the Camry's NAV blocks the CallerID when the car is in motion. (unless the person is already in the NAV's phone book). This is the same for all phones.
