We occasionally hear a knocking sound that seems like it it coming from the top of the B-pillar between the front and rear passenger doors. It is low pitch (no ringing) like knocking on solid wood, only occurs on bumps, but not necessarily large bumps, and certainly not all bumps.

It pretty much stops when pressing up near the right-rear corner of the sunroof (with the sun shade retracted!), or with the sunroof open at least a little (up or back). It can be loud enough to hear over the radio at highway speeds, but is much more noticeable driving slowly with the radio off.

Asked the dealer to look at it during the 20K service last week, but he found nothing.

Anyone else with this noise in their TCH (or non-hybrid '07 Camry)?

I just heard the same sound, very loud and disturbing.

After I parked i noticed that there is a 'lip' under the portion of the window that goes back that looks to be twisted. I hope this is an easy fix at the dealer.

Can someone please email me or repost the tear down manuals that where posted a few months ago, I want to see if I can save my self a trip to the dealer.

I've had that same knocking sound for quite some time. It only seems to occur when the sunroof is closed. Although I'm not positive, I think it may be coming from the accordion-like rubber piece that expands when the sunroof is opened since it stops when I put my hand on that piece.

Any thoughts?
