Yes the MTEC HID are made perfectly for the Camry. I have them installed on mine, and i wished i knew how to post pictures on this blog. The guy who installed them said these were the best he seen, and that cheap is not always the best way to go. But I would recommend that you DO NOT buy from that seller that you have listed, b/c they have somewhat of a low customer rating.

Keith:
Do they draw more current, thus forcing the ICE to charge the battery more, reducing mileage or do they draw less current? From your answer, I would assume you didn't notice any difference in mileage.

The specs from MTEC say they put out more light than the halogens they replace, at 2/3 the power.

Are MTECs really good? What about the HIDs Oznium sells (FlowLighting http://www.oznium.com/hid)?

It "appears" that these use simple light tubes, but would still go through the existing Halogen lens. Is that true?

I've been trying to find "real" HIDs for the Camry, but all of them seem to be just bulbs/ballasts. These will be crap through the Halogen lenses, with completely the wrong light pattern (though admittedly better than just bulbs with no lens like a lot of cheap kits).

Does anyone know of a real HID kit? Proper lenses, levelers, the whole bit?

Sorry if that hijacks the thread a bit.

Later!

Dang

There aren't any kits that replace the halogen projectors. For a few thousand, you can have a retrofit done that will be superior to almost any OEM HIDs.
