McGyver — Whew! I'm glad to hear that you're okay. Yes, when the ICE is already "on," the TCH has exceptional acceleration at low speeds, due to the very large combined torque of the two power sources.

Glad it work out for you.I agree that the electric motor kicking in really seems"fast." However, the V-6 Camry,V-6 Accord and many many other cars will out accelerate the HCH at all speeds.If you were accelerating fairly hard,you still would have been in first gear in most cars.It wouldn't even have required a shift.
Manual trans V-6 Accords are even quicker(especially the new one).
