New 7.1 Nav disc in part chain now.
Gang...
The parts department appears to be able to get the 7.1 Nav disc now. I picked it up yesterday. Part number is 86271-53022.
Oddly, it's called a "Disc, Disc player".
For some reason the price has gone up, $343 Cdn, not sure in the U.S., but cheaper I think.
The agree button is gone. It now just displays the warning for a bit, then switches to the map, and of course the maps themselves are updated.
Later!

Thanks for the heads up. How did you hear about the update? Did you just ask your dealer, or was there an announcement?
I'm eager to see if the update is more accurate on the guidance. There have been a couple of times I was amazed at the strange, convoluted route it selected.

Re: New 7.1 Nav disc in part chain now.
I got the part number from a forum user on another site that had received the 7.1 disk with his new car.
The dealer didn't contact me. In fact if you phone and ask for an "updated" map disc, they will probably tell you there isn't one. I had to ask for the specific part number, which wasn't even in their computer when I first started. The fact it's called a "disc magazine" probably doesn't make it any clearer either.
Logically it has updated roads, but you never know if the ones in your area have been updated without trying it. Losing the "I agree" button is nice. It still locks out when moving though.

I ordered it from my dealer today. $250 US, and it should be in in 7-10 days for pickup at the parts department. He confirmed that it's 7.1 for the 5th gen Nav unit, and will wotk with my '07 Hybrid.

Re: New 7.1 Nav disc in part chain now.
Definately will work, as I've loaded it.
$250 U.S. (and $285 cdn) was what I heard before. Not sure why it's $343 in Canada now. We Canadian's get screwed in the car parts (and new car) costs, especially since the Canadian dollar is above the U.S. one. Sigh.....

I have a discount coupon that'll get me within $5 of his $200 plus shipping, and get the peace of mind of knowing I have a legitimate disk.

Re: New 7.1 Nav disc in part chain now.
Can the 7.1 version be used to satisfy the TSB regarding the malfunctioning 5.1 version?
