Default new owner, 2 questions

Hey everyone, I've owned my TCH for about 5 days now, and have just gotten over 400 miles (on my old Altima 3.5SE, I'd have filled up a day ago!). I have two questions --

1) Is it ok to shift into B mode as a way of slowing down? I imagine it is at low speeds, but when I did this for exiting a highway at ~70, the electric motor whined a lot.

2) when the car is in electric only mode, and I have my music off, I can feel faint clicks from the steering wheel whenever I make a slight adjustment. I assume that's just the electric power steering and is normal?

Thanks.

There was a discussion on this board about this a while back. It won't hurt anything, but you probably don't want to do it. When in B mode you're spinning the engine to slow the car down, thereby bypassing the regen braking. You're better off coasting and braking moderately. The only time you want to do it is going down a steep hill.

Not sure about this one. I haven't noticed it but you may be more sensitive. I do know the owner's manual has a whole page of "if you hear or feel this don't worry, it's normal" type of entries.

Oh, and BTW welcome to the board and enjoy learning all about your new car.
