Default Quick airbag light question please

OK here I go again....
When my husband sits in the passenger seat the Airbag ON orange light appears...Dealer said normal....To me Orange light is a warning so its annoying...
Yes I usually drive without him....
Just want to make sure Dealer (actually girl who runs Delivery!) is correct....

Shortly after I got my car, we had the side airbag light going on intermittently. I took it to the dealer, and they reset the computer to clear out the error code. Maybe your problem is something simple like that. I'd have them check it out.

.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Yes it's normal. It's probably aimed at those who still put infant carriers in the front seat. You DON't want the airbag on then. The sensor in the seat should keep the airbag off until about(?) 40 lbs on on the passenger's seat. There is also an amber airbag is OFF light as well. Not sure when it's illuminated though.

Found this, not sure if it helps, but it indicates that this is normal and related to the child seat sensor system.

Yeah if there's no noticable weight it doesn't light up I think, but if there's a small amount of weight it says the airbag's off (no airbag if it's a baby), and for heavier weight, like an adult or older kid, it says the airbag's on. It's just informational. For a real warning have your husband leave his seat belt off, hehe. Red blinking seat belt light followed by lots of beeping. Really annoying when you're just carting the laundry home from the laundromat and it fires up.
