So this is my first post on here, I've been looking around for a bit. Just got a TCH three weeks ago, and due to where I am at I can only drive it on the weekends. I've wanted to put some type of glass treatment on, cuz of the hard water that drips on my car from the garage I park it in sometimes, and can't seem to get Rain X or Clear Rain to 'stick'. They both leave a spotchy streaked residue which I have a lot of trouble scrubbing away, any tips for applying this stuff?

Tape around the paint to avoid it from making contact, clean the glass very well, make sure you really shake the bottle well, and lightly mist the glass with water and buff it when you are done.

Rain X treatment totally blows. I hate the streaking it leaves behind...

If you want your windshield to bead off water just clean your windshield with Invisible glass and black and white newspaper.

Steps:

1. Wash car.

2. Dry car.

3. Apply Invisible Glass (spray on).

4. Using a crumpled up newspaper spread invisible glass around while mopping it up. If newspaper gets too soggy, replace with dry one. Remove all invisible glass spray.

If done right, you will not have to use your wipers in the rain.

I apply the Rain-X, let it dry to a haze, then use Invisible Glass and newspaper to clean the haze off. Works great.

No personal experience but I've heard good things about Aquapel.

When it gets hazy is it hazy like when you wax your car, or is the window just not shiny anymore?

I do the same. A little Rain-X goes a long way. I find a few drops on the glass will do about 1/4 to 1/3 the windshield.

You do realize that if you use invisible glass after you apply rain x... you are removing rain-x right?

I don't believe that to be the case. The water beads much better with my method than with Invisible Glass alone, and lasts a couple of months as expected.
