Second glitch...
You know the shifter override button thing? There's supposed to be a nice matching piece of plastic over the hole, just above the letter P to the left of the transmission gear shifter... well, my TCH doesn't have the nice piece of plastic, just a little rectangular hole. I did not notice this until I was riding as a passenger in the car last night for the first time and saw a lovely green glow eminating from the hole.
I believe I saw this piece in a plastic bag hanging from my rearview mirror on the day the car arrived when we visited it at the dealership. Now, why in the world didn't they put it where it belonged?
I wrote an email to the salesman and asked him about it.
Oh, and while I was checking the glove box to see if maybe the little piece was in there I found four black, oval-shaped plug-like things... what are these for and where do they go?

Hmmmm, not sure - but on the Honda Pilot there used to be some plugs that were meant to be installed in the frame as part of the pre-delivery prep. I've not looked under my TCH yet to see if there is something similar. How large are the "plugs"?

There was a post about those plugs here -- although I can't find it now (I believe it was posted within the past two weeks). Someone reported the same thing, and mentioned where the plugs go.
If you can't find the post, you could just go back to the dealer and ask them. :)

Wrong key, missing plastic cap by shifter, four plastic plugs still in glovebox. I hope they didn't try and charge you for dealer prep.

Yep - exactly as the pre-delivery of the Honda Pilot. Must be a fairly common item.

As others have said, go to the dealer and have them installed. They should be able to get the missing plastic cover and install that as well.
That missing plastic cover hides the button in that hole next to the shifter. The button allows you to shift out of park if for some reason (dead battery or ?) you can't get the car out of park normally.

Well, it sounds like they did a fine job ignoring the pre-delivery checklist! I'd ask to see the checklist and see who initialed by the items that were NOT done on your car. Oh, and check your tire pressure--you may be surprised!

Re: Second glitch...
Our salesman was very apologetic. He said that the plugs in our glovebox are extras, because he knows that those were installed (he checked). He said he is not sure how they missed the override button cover, and then how he missed it when he went through the checklist again, but they are more than happy to install it where it belongs at my convenience.
Do you think it's odd that there are spare plugs? Guess I will have to look up the info and try to look where they are supposed to be.

Very, very odd.
If the salesperson is right and yours are installed, that would likely mean that either [1] they accidentally used the plugs from another car (but WHY?), or [2] there were 2 sets of plugs in your car, but if that was the case, wouldn't they take that extra set out?
