Do you think it's odd that there are spare plugs? Guess I will have to look up the info and try to look where they are supposed to be.
I would take the car down and make them show me that they are indeed installed.

I have the 4 plugs in my glove box as well. These dealers are a piece of work, the brag about this 46 point pre-delivery checklist and insepection, and truthfully I think all they do is pull the plastic off, clean the car and delvier it, then charge you huge DOC fees. I already had issues at delviery that made them not even want to sell me the car becasue I said I woudl nail them on their survey. They even had the dealership President e-mail me apologizing (sucking up for a good survey). I have my first service next Friday to fix some minor annoying things, we'll see how that goes and that will determine if I give them a good survey.

I agree with Chilly. And stay with the car all the time. Don't let them take it into the service area, install them and then say "see, there they are".

Isn't it sad the way the sales folks almost beg you to give them a good review when you receive the survey?

It always makes me want to knock them down a notch just for that alone.

It's not just the salespeople, it's everyone involved; financing, service, etc. They make it very plain that they'd like the highest grade in all categories. I have no problem doing that, as long as they earn it.

Yeah I am going to struggel with mine, I got passed around liek a hot potato at delivery, I was told car was ready it was not. What a joke, 2.5 hour delivery, never spent more than 15-30 min before. Then when I was in financing the guy was rude so I said I can;t wait for the survey. Ding, ding ding.. Next then I know the GM wants to meet me and basically tells me if I don;t give them a good survey he does nto want to sell me the car. I said fine find me a dealer with one and I'll leave and BTW I'll be writing a letter to Toyota Japan and making sure to get everyone's name right I take his business card. Well they now start tripping over themselves to apologize and the GM now had delivers the car and has the Director of Finance handle my close. We'll see how first service goes, I got an e-mail from the President of the dealership apologizing and he want to arrange and handle my forst service, so we'll see how that goes as the Sirisu is not working right, I have a flake of the leather that kind of feel off and the notorious center console squeak. They give me any grief and the survey will be all bad. Can't wait to see what they do with the leather, as it is Port Leather and they say the port is the only one allowed to handle the leather due to saftey concerns with airbags. If they think I'm going to let them ship my car to the port, they are drugged. My own fault I owned a bunch of Toyotas and swore I would never get port optons, but the **** TCH is almost impossible to get with factory leather

Just an FYI-- the little plastic piece took all of 2 seconds for our salesman to install, literally. He assured me that the little rubber plugs were installed right where they are supposed to be and that those really are extras in our glovebox.

I am just amazed that some dealerships pressure people IN ADVANCE about that survey. Our dealership never even mentioned the survey until after all of our financing paperwork was done, checklist complete, etc.. And, they just asked us if we wouldn't mind doing it, so I said sure and they showed me where the computer was.

We were also never pressured to buy any options or upgrades, though they did tell us about them. Several times they said, "We're just telling you that these are options. You are under no obligation to actually buy them." The financing guy said the same thing about the additional warranty extensions.

Oh, and as of today with 180-something miles (hubby was driving & I forgot to check the odometer before we turned her off) the tank average FE is 33.7.

Where, exactly, are the four plugs located? Can one see them without putting the car on a lift? I got down on the ground looking around where I thought the jacking points were but didn't see any oval shaped plugs.

Re Toyota surveys, The sales manager from my dealership sent me a form letter asking me to call him directly if there were any issues preventing me from giving his dealership the highest marks across the board on the upcoming survey.

I actually took him up on his request, being that the sales rep (their Internet sales manager!) was ignoring my post-sale emailed questions re low MPG and XM Radio upgrade. Mr Sales Manager returned my voice mail the following day and explained that my 28MPG was due to 1) hot weather, 2) car not broken in, 3) EPA figures based on a car running on a treadmill without wind resistance(!). He told me to bring the car in at 1000 miles if the problem persisted.

My FE is up to 30MPG halfway into my second tank but that includes highway driving that I don't usually do.
