Shifter - does your's have a bend?
Hello Everyone,
I feel dumb for asking this but, does everyone's shifter have a slight bend toward the driver just above the shifter face (dash) line?
I just noticed this and want to be sure it is not something I did or the dealer did. It is very subtle.
Thanks,
Mike

The shifter handle twists on, and doesn't have a stop point that lines up straight; you can put it in any position you want. The shifter leans one way or the other depending on which position it's in from park back to B.

Right, that I know. I have the sport shift knob and I know it twists on and off as I have taken it off.

It sounds like what you are describing is the shift neck (the metal rod). What I am trying to describe is a slight bend about 1/4 up from the bottom. If you run your fingers along it you should be able to detect the bend (assuming it is suppose to be there).

Re: Shifter - does your's have a bend?
Thanks for clarifying what you meant. I'll have to check it out when I'm in the car later today.
EDIT: I never noticed before, but yes, mine does bend. The neck bends, and on mine visually looks like it comes out of the console at a 5% angle to the right, then just above the shifter plate it bends to the left so that the shifter knob is straight vertical.

Re: Shifter - does your's have a bend?
I have removed my shift knob many times in order to remove the center console, and I've never noticed any bend on the shifter rod.

I asked because my dealer has caused other damage and I never noticed it before.
But I now rest assured all is well

I sure understand that we someimes just need the reassurance that "they're all like that."
