Solution for wind wind noise
After reading threats regarding wind noise, (http://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/s...ad.php?t=12582) I have tried to put in some felt pad into my TCH. This is an idea from one of the Lexus ES350 owner. I got an impressive result that the wind noise has significantly lowered after applying felt pads.
I applied felt pads in 3 main areas:
At the front of the door, next to the side mirror area.

There is a long piece of rubber material covering the top area of each door, starting around the side mirror area and ends around the top end corner of the panel. After you open the door, you will be able to see the huge gap between the rubber and the door panel right at where the rubber starts, right next to the side mirror. I think part of the wind noise is coming from the gap just mentioned. What I try to accomplish is to fill up the space between the rubber and the door panel by adding/stacking couple pieces of felt pad in the gap.

Hold on to the same piece of rubber, gently pulling it out from the door panel (DON’T PULL THE RUBBER ALL OUT!!) and put the felt pad along side the rail. I applied the first half of the door panel only since I think that’s actually the affected area.

Flip the rubber inward towards the cabin, I put some felt pad also on the inner side of the door panel, an area between the door panel and the rubber. It is just a very thin
On top of the window glass.
I put a strip of felt pad above the window glass. I want to make sure that the window is fully closed without gap when it is closed. I don’t know how effective this is.
My recommendation of placing those felt pad is that when you are removing the rubber, don’t pull it ALL OUT from the door panel. You still have to put them back and it would be a lot easier if you did not pull the entire rubber out from the panel.
I purchase the felt pad from Michael’s. It is a 10 inch by 10 inch felt pad with stick at the back for $2. Just one piece is more than enough for you to apply on both doors.
I didn’t measure the decreasing of wind noise but it is noticeable enough.
Moral of the story: I can never imagine the impact from that piece of $2 felt pad. Put the felt pad in wherever you hear squeaking, rattle, ticking, etc, and you are done. You do not have to go to the dealer anymore, battling with realizing how good your ears are.
