Default Suggested Dealer Customizations for Settings?

Greetings all,

I just picked up an '09 this past Saturday and it has exceeded my expectations!

What customizations would you recommend I have the dealer set? I am taking it back in to have the dealer install XM so I figured I would have them customize settings at that time.

Thanks!

None. As far as I'm concerned the default options make sense. IMHO

Note: These are personal preferences.

I wanted the HVAC to not turn on the A/C automatically nor did I want the RECIRC to be on. So those were my changes.

My wife wanted the doors to lock when the vehicle reached 12mph and to NOT unlock when shifter put into P.

That was it for us.

AC on doesn't necessarily mean that cold air is going to blow.
The AC light goes on in the winter if the heater is on.
It means the condenser is running and that will help to dehumidify the cabin (no fog).

Not a mechanic, so what I wrote is what I believe, but may not be 100% accurate

It's all about choice and personal preference b'bay! Yeeeeah!

I had the seatbelt warning turned off. They has been an amazing relief for my ears concerning the heavy packages I put in the front passenger seat.

I am considering the recirc change but am not sure if the current default operation is that big of a deal for me.

Recirc automatically on seems pointless to me, even if it (or especially since it) only comes on when you start the car when it's hot out. But if you don't run the AC, there's zero value to having the air recycled, and you have to notice which days it's on and which it isn't if you have to turn it off manually because your fresh air options are limited by recirculation. If you use climate control 100% of the time I suppose it might make not be a liability but otherwise it's basically stupid. When I don't even have the fan running there can't possibly be any benefit to having the car recirculating my superheated air.

One of these days I have to redo the 'unlock all doors' option but that's not a dealer one.

To me, keeping it on recirc -- even when I have the climate system off -- is important because for some reason my TCH breaths in a lot of exhaust from the vehicles in front of me in heavy traffic and I get gassed out. I've posted a thread on the subject and it seems other do not have the same problem as myself. It might possibly be a geographical climate issue.

I wish recirc would stay on unless I turn it off.

Do you know for sure it wouldn't, if you set it to "manual"? I haven't tried it but I suppose I could give it a shot (if I remember). In theory manual intake mode should be manual for either position, right?

I am wondering about the moonroof. In the list of customizable features it lists being able to open and close the moonroof with the key fob. It says that the default settings is that if you hold the lock button for 2.4 seconds it will close the roof and same to open using the unlock button. Mine does not do either. I am guessing I just need to take it in and have the dealer turn on that option. Do any of you have this working???

This has been discussed before, and I believe it was decided that this function is not available on the TCH.
