Default Tires : Default Bridgestone Turanza EL400?

They put Bridgestone Turanza EL400 on my new TCH. It looks like this is a summer tire. I was wondering if it is same for other TCH owners in the forum..

If so, is everyone thinking of changing it for the winter...this questions applies to folks who live in the northern states of course.

Cheers,

Must be a geographical thing.
Here in "Flatland" both my TCH and wife's '07 XLE-V6 came with the Bridgestones.
According to the sidewall are rated: 260/A/A
What are the Michelin's rated?
J

There are so many newbies (its all relative)...

I started a thread in early July on this topic. It was determined that there was no rhyme or reason to which vehicles get which tires. Both are rated all season, and its tough to tell which one is superior. Quite a few folks from extreme cold climates have the Bridgestone's too.

My Michelin's are rated 440 for treadware. and also A & A. So the Michelin's should last longer than the Bridgestones.

I decided to do a bit of a reseaarch on that one too:
My tire is Bridgestone Turanza EL400; P215/60 R16
According to this web site:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...=Turanza+EL400

this tire is 640 A/B (640 for treadware).
It seams like a better one for winter conditions.

I looked that up last night when I saw this thread. UNFORTUNATELY, the tires on my car are rated 260 A/A.

I think the other poster is right based on what they read off of their sidewall and the fact you may have chosen the WRONG link at TireRack. You picked the wrong Turanza(EL400), when the tire on the Camry's(at least the earlier posters) is the EL400-02. See this TireRack link for the CORRECT specs:
