Smile Took a 2hr test drive and got 40.1mpg!!!

I went to my local dealer last night to check out the TCH. I have a 05 Prius and I am thinking that I might trade/sell it and get a New TCH. I called the dealer and asked about an extended test drive. As its hard to make a 30K+ decision in 10 minutes. They were more than accommodating to me. I got there and they had a loaded red 09 waiting for me. I took it out with 5 miles and a almost empty battery. I drove around my area especially the areas and roads that i am on a lot with my prius where I know I get proven good milage and I put about 40 or so miles on the car. I was really impressed with the overall quality of the car. The only thing is as others have said seems like they fell short with the dash area. Looks poorly put together. Other than that it is quite a nice ride. On to the MPG. I reset everything before I left the dealer and pretty quick I had it up to 39-41. And I was able to keep it there for the entire drive. I was not expecting quite those kind of numbers being brand new. But it really performed. I also took it on the highway for a bit and was really suprised at the numbers there. It was very easy to hold 65-70mph while getting a steady 50-55MPG!! Anyway just thought I would report that. Now I just have to make a decision on which color to get!! Needless to say I am sold.

Pretty impressive numbers for a test drive. Your Prius driving experience must have helped........

So far, the highest I have in ours is 42 at 70 miles per hour. I would like to see better, but I can live with that.
