Re: toronto area owners, where did you get snow tires?
I live in Ottawa ON and have a 2007 TCH. I found tires and Toyota steel rims at tiretrends.com located in BC. They were shipped to me mounted, balanced and filled with nitrogen for less than I could find anywhere in Ottawa. The tires I got were Michelin X-ICE and they are back on the car for the second winter here in Ottawa. I have nothing but good things to say about them and Tiretrends. Below please find a portion of my ship order from Tiretrends including $9.50 shipping, each

Re: toronto area owners, where did you get snow tires?
I'm also in Ottawa. I've just ordered Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 tires and steel rims. Balanced and installed $1120 taxes in (after Michelin $100 rebate). I'm going to Commercial tire, who I've had a lot of success with in the past. I'll be getting them on Thursday, just in time for the first snow.
I first went to Costco, who has better prices, but they couldn't promise they'd still have rims when my tires come in (they're special order at Costco). I asked if I could just buy the rims now and set them aside for the tires when they arrive. They refused, saying that I couldn't buy the rims until the tires were already in, meaning that I could wind up stuck with tires and no rims. No thanks.

Hey, with the strength of the Loonie, why don't you guys come down south and take advantage of the weak dollar?

I actually thought about it, but I don't really want to have my back seat loaded up with wheels on the way back.
